Ortaokul Öğrencileri Arasında Siber Zorbalık / Cyber Bullying Among Secondary School Students

Öz

İletişim teknolojisinin çeşitlenmesi, kullanımının öğrenciler arasında yaygınlanşması ve sosyal medya olanaklarının artması ile birlikte öğrencilerin maruz oldukları siber zorbalık davranışları büyük ölçüde artmıştüır. Sosyal medya ve teknolojiye kolay ulaşılması, bu alandaki denetimin zorlukları ve öğrenci özellikleri siber zorbalığın artmasına neden olurken bu durum okulda ve sınıfta önemli disiplin sorunlarına neden olmaktadır. Siber zorbalık sadece okulda disiplin sorunlarına neden olmakla kalmıyor aynı zamanda öğrenciler üzerinde ciddi psikolojik ve psikosomatik etkiler yaratarak eğitim haklarından mahrum olmalarına neden olabilmektedir. Bu araştırmanın amacı ortaokul öğrencileri arasında görülen siber zorbalığı ve siber zorbalık mağduru öğrenciler ile bu öğrencilerin öğretmenlerinin bu duruma karşı gösterdikleri tepkileri incelemektir. Araştırma Nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum çalışması deseninde hazırlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu kolay ulaşılabilir örnekleme yöntemiyle Antalya Muratpaşa, Aksu ve Manavgat’ta bulunan 4 ortaokuldan amaçlı örneklem yöntemlerinden ölçüt örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen 10 öğretmen ve 2 okul yöneticisi oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada veriler doküman incelemesi ve görüşme yöntemiyle elde edilmiştir. Görüşme yöntemiyle elde edilen veriler betimsel ve içerik analizi teknikleriyle analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analiz sonucunda öğretmenlerin siber zorbalık araçlarını, genel bir tanımla internet olarak gördükleri sonucuna varılmıştır. Siber zorbalığa maruz kalan öğrencilerin tedirgin ve gergin oldukları, içlerine kapandıkları, derslerinde başarısız oldukları, korktukları ve genel depresyon davranışları sergiledikleri sonucuna varılmıştır. Katılımcılara göre öğrencileri siber zorbalığa maruz kalan öğretmenler, öncelikle öğrenci ile iletişim kurma yoluna gitmektedir.

Öz

With the diversification of communication technology, its widespread use among students and the increase in social media opportunities, the cyberbullying behaviors that students are exposed to have greatly increased. Easy access to social media and technology, difficulties in control in this area and student characteristics cause cyberbullying to increase and this situation causes significant disciplinary problems at school and in the classroom. Cyberbullying not only causes disciplinary problems at school, but also creates serious psychological and psychosomatic effects on students, causing them to be deprived of their educational rights. The aim of this study is to examine the cyber bullying among secondary school students and the attitudes of teachers against cyber bullying. For this purpose, 10 teachers and 2 managers working in Antalya were interviewed. In the interview, questions regarding the definition and instruments of cyber bullying, and the duties of all actors in case of cyber bullying were asked. Collected data were qualitatively analyzed. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that teachers perceive cyberbullying tools as internet in a general definition. It was concluded that students exposed to cyberbullying are anxious and nervous, withdrawn, fail, fear, and exhibit general depression behaviors. According to the participants, when a student is exposed to cyberbullying, teachers first try to communicate with the student.
