İlkokul 4. Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Duygu ve Düşüncelere Saygı ile Hoşgörü Tutumları ve Görüşlerinin İncelenmesi

The major aim of this research is to identify the fourth grade primary school students’ views and attitudes towards respect and tolerance for the emotions and thoughts. A convergent parallel pattern, one of the mixed research methods, was used in the study. The quantitative research sample constitutes 492 fourth grade primary school students who study within the province of Elazig and who were selected through the random sampling method. The qualitative sample of the study is consisted of 15 primary school students selected by convenience sampling method. The research deployed three data collection tools: Personal information form, a semi-structured interview form and the "A Scale for the Attitudes towards Respect and Tolerance for the Emotions and Thought". Descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis of variance were used during quantitative data analysis, and content analysis was preferred for the analysis of qualitative data. No significant difference has been found between students’ respect for thoughts subdimension in terms of gender; whereas students’ respect for emotions and tolerance vary across gender. The difference has been determined to be in favor of female students. There has been no significant difference in respect to the subdimensions of respect for emotions and thoughts in terms of mother occupation status, yet a significant difference has been found in the subdimension of tolerance in favor of those whose mothers work. Likewise, students’ views regarding respect for emotions and tolerance do not differ depending upon father occupation status, while a significant difference exists in terms of the respect for emotions.

Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilkokul dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin duygu ve düşüncelere saygı ile hoşgörü tutumlarını ve görüşlerini incelemektir. Araştırmada, karma araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan yakınsayan paralel desen kullanılmıştır. Nicel boyutta araştırmanın örneklemini, Elazığ ilinde öğrenim görmekte olan, raslantısal örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen 492 ilkokul dördüncü sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın nitel örneklemini uygun örnekleme yöntemine göre seçilmiş 15 ilkokul dördüncü sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak, kişisel bilgiler formu, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ve “Duygu ve Düşüncelere Saygı ile Hoşgörü Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Nicel verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistik ve çok değişkenli varyans analizi; nitel verilerin analizinde içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin düşüncelere saygı alt boyutunda cinsiyet değişkeni açısından anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmazken, duygulara saygı ve hoşgörü alt boyutlarında kız öğrencilerin lehine anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmuştur. Anne çalışma durumuna göre öğrencilerin duygu ve düşüncelere saygı alt boyutlarında anlamlı farklılık bulunmazken, hoşgörü alt boyutunda annesi çalışan öğrencilerin lehine anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur. Baba mesleği durumuna göre öğrencilerin düşüncelere saygı ve hoşgörü alt boyutlarında anlamlı farklılık bulunmazken, duygulara saygı alt boyutunda anlamlı farklılık çıkmıştır.
