Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between academic optimism level and principals' management styles according to teacher perception. Relational screening method was used in the study. The universe of the research consists of teachers working in public schools in Adıyaman city center in the 2020-2021 academic year. For this purpose, online data were collected from 353 teachers working in 51 public schools in Adıyaman city center. Parametric and non-parametric tests were conducted to understand whether teachers' perceptions of academic optimism and perceived principal management style differed significantly according to gender, branch, seniority, school level, and school size variables. A simple correlation was made while trying to determine in which direction and in what way the relationship between academic optimism and perceived principal management style according to teacher perception. In scanning models, the answers of the people are reported in the form of percentages, in the form of a ruler. As a result of the research, it was seen that teachers' views on academic optimism and perceived principal management style differed significantly according to the variables of gender, branch, school level, and the number of teachers in the school. According to teachers' opinions, there is a positive and "moderate" relationship between cooperative management style and academic optimism; A negative “low” relationship was found between the oppositional management style, the disinterested management style and the authoritarian management style and academic optimism.
