Open access is defined by Budapest Open Access Initiative as "open access" to this literature, we mean its free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself.

Again, Budapest Open Access Initiative, under the II. Open-access Journals heading states that "Because journal articles should be disseminated as widely as possible, these new journals will no longer invoke copyright to restrict access to and use of the material they publish. Instead they will use copyright and other tools to ensure permanent open access to all the articles they publish." In other words, it is emphasized that the peer-reviewed journal literature has to be open access. As a result, it is the most important goal to ensure that the literature is completely free and accessible for scientists, researchers, teachers, students and enthusiasts.

In this context, Kocaeli University Journal of Education adopted the Open Access Policy defined by the Budapest Open Access Initiative.Within this framework, Access to the journal is defined as Open Access in the JournalPark Participation Agreement which was signed with the name of Kocaeli University Journal of Education.

Kocaeli University Journal of Education DOES NOT charge or demand any fee under any name from the author(s) at any stage, starting from submission to the final stage in which the article was published on the DergiPark platform for the work submitted. There is no article submission charge or  artcile processing charge or any other charge at any stage.
