Öğretmen Görüşlerine Göre Proje Yaklaşımının Çocukların Bilimsel Süreç Becerilerine Katkıları / Contributions of the Project Approach to Children's Science Process Skills According to Teachers' Views

In this study, it is aimed to examine the contributions provided by the project approach for children aged 4-6 to use scientific process skills in the context of teachers' views. The study was designed as a case study, one of the qualitative research methods. The study group was determined by purposive sampling. In this regard, five teachers working at the Foça Municipality Children's Home, where the researcher served as the manager, formed the working group. Interview technique was used as a data collection tool in the study. A demographic information form prepared by the researcher and semi-structured interview questions consisting of 9 questions for teachers developed by the researcher were used to determine the personal information of the teachers. Participating teachers were interviewed for an average of one hour each, and the interviews were recorded in writing with their permission. In addition, in the context of ensuring data diversity, quotations from the illustrative examples given by the teachers to the interview questions are included. To support these quotations, photographs of children's activities including samples from the explanations of the teachers were used. In order to ensure data integrity, teachers were asked to answer the interview questions based on the "trace project" they had recently implemented, and children's application photos were also included accordingly. The data of the study were analyzed by content analysis. The data of the study were analyzed by content analysis. The findings obtained at the end of the research indicate that teachers stated that the project approach provides very significant contributions for children to use their scientific process skills. At the end of the study, suggestions were developed for preschool teachers, who are the planners and implementers of the preschool education program, to include the project approach in their programs in a planned and systematic way.

Bu çalışmada; proje yaklaşımının, 4-6 yaş grubu çocukların bilimsel süreç becerilerine katkılarının öğretmen görüşleri bağlamında incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması (case studies) olarak desenlenmiştir. Çalışma grubu amaçlı örneklem seçimi ile belirlenmiştir. Bu doğrultuda araştırmacının yönetici olarak görev yaptığı Foça Belediyesi Çocuk Evinde görev yapan beş öğretmen çalışma grubunu oluşturmuştur. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak, görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Öğretmenlerin kişisel bilgilerini belirlemeye yönelik araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan demografik bilgi formu ve araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen öğretmenlere yönelik 9 sorudan oluşan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme soruları kullanılmıştır. Katılımcı öğretmenler ile ortalama birer saat görüşme yapılmış izinleri doğrultusunda görüşmeler yazılı olarak kaydedilmiştir. Ayrıca veri çeşitliliğinin sağlanması bağlamında öğretmenlerin görüşme sorularına verdiği açıklayıcı örneklerden alıntılara yer verilmiştir. Bu alıntıları desteklemek için öğretmenlerin örnek açıklamalarını kapsayan çocukların etkinlik fotoğraflarından yararlanılmıştır. Veri bütünlüğünün sağlanması amacıyla öğretmenlerin görüşme sorularına, en son uyguladıkları “iz projesi” üzerinden yanıt vermeleri istenmiş, çocukların uygulama fotoğraflarına da bu doğrultuda yer verilmiştir. Çalışmanın verileri, içerik analizi ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre, proje yaklaşımı çocukların bilimsel süreç becerilerine çok önemli katkılar sağlamaktadır. Bu sonuca göre okulöncesi eğitim programının planlayıcısı ve uygulayıcısı olan okulöncesi öğretmenlerinin programlarına proje yaklaşımını planlı ve sistemli bir şekilde dahil etmeleri önerilmektedir.
