Achievement Test Development Study for 6th Grade Sound and Characteristics Unit: Validity and Reliability Analysis1 / 6.Sınıf Ses ve Özellikleri Ünitesine Yönelik Başarı Testi Geliştirme Çalışması: Geçerlik ve Güvenirlik Analizi

In this study, it was aimed to develop an achievement test with multiple choice questions, all of which were valid and reliable, taking into account the achievements of the sound and properties unit of the 6th grade science course. The purpose of choosing this unit in the study is that there is no achievement test prepared for this unit before. Literature review for the study was conducted and previous achievement test development studies were examined. In the development process of the test, firstly, the achievements for the unit were determined. For the achievement test, a table of specifications for the achievements was prepared. In the next stage, 28 questions were prepared, with at least three questions per acquisition. This 28-question test was presented to the opinion of experts in the field and their opinions were taken. Necessary adjustments were made in line with the opinions of the experts. During the pilot application, opinions on the response time, face validity, spelling errors and printing errors of the achievement test were taken. It was understood that spelling errors and printing errors were in the majority among the feedbacks from the students. It is among the incoming feedbacks that the response time of the achievement test is sufficient. The pilot application of the test was carried out with 40 students and necessary corrections were made at the end of the process. The test, which was prepared after the pilot application, was applied to 211 7th grade students studying in Kahramanmaraş. The answers obtained were arranged and transferred to digital media. Item analyzes of the data were made in Excel and SPSS programs. As a result of item analysis, four questions that could not provide validity and reliability were excluded from the test. The mean difficulty index value of the final version of the achievement test was 0.56, and the item discrimination index was 0.50. The reliability analysis of the achievement test was found to be 0.84 by calculating the KR-20 value. Considering these values, as a result of the study, an achievement test consisting of 24 questions and multiple choice was developed.

Yapılan bu araştırmada ortaokul 6. sınıf fen bilimleri dersi ses ve özellikleri ünitesi kazanımları dikkate alınarak tamamı çoktan seçmeli sorular içeren geçerlik ve güvenirliği sağlanmış bir başarı testi geliştirmek amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada bu ünitenin seçilmesindeki amaç daha önce bu üniteye yönelik hazırlanmış başarı testininin bulunmamasıdır. Çalışmaya yönelik alanyazın incelemesi yapılmış ve daha önce yapılmış başarı testi geliştirme çalışmaları incelenmiştir. Testin geliştirme sürecinde ilk olarak üniteye yönelik kazanımlar belirlenmiştir. Başarı testi için kazanımlara yönelik belirtke tablosu hazırlanmıştır. Bundan sonraki aşamada her kazanım başına en az üçer soru olacak biçimde 28 tane soru hazırlanmıştır. Bu 28 soruluk test, alanında uzman kişilerin görüşüne sunularak görüşleri alınmıştır. Uzmanlardan alınan görüşler dogrultusunda gerekli görülen düzenlemeler yapılmıştır. Pilot uygulama sırasında başarı testinin cevap süresi, görünüş geçerliği, imla hataları ve baskı hatalarına yönelik görüşler alınmıştır. Öğrencilerden gelen dönütler arasında imla hataları ve basım hataları çoğunlukta olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Başarı testinin cevaplama süresinin yeterli olduğu gelen dönütler arasındadır. Testin pilot uygulaması 40 öğrenciyle birlikte yürütülmüş ve süreç sonunda gerekli düzeltmeler yapılmıştır. Pilot uygulama sonrasında hazırlanan test Kahramanmaraş’ta öğrenim gören 211 tane 7. sınıf öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen cevaplar düzenlenerek dijital ortama aktarılmıştır. Excel ve SPSS programlarında verilerin madde analizleri yapılmıştır. Madde analizi sonucunda geçerlik ve güvenirliği sağlayamayan dört soru test dışı bırakılmıştır. Başarı testinin son halinin ortalama güçlük indeksi değeri 0.56, madde ayırt edicilik indeksi ise 0.50 bulunmuştur. Başarı testinin güvenirlik analizi KR-20 değeri hesaplanarak 0.84 bulunmuştur. Bu değerler göz önüne alındığında çalışma sonucunda 24 soruluk çoktan seçmeli madde içeren geçerliği ve güvenirliği sağlanmış bir başarı testi geliştirilmiştir.
