Editorial

With the last number of 2018 year we are together with you.

The contents in this number of our journal are as follows: First, there is a study under the title of “Students’ Achievement and Mathematical Thinking in Process of Problem Solving and Problem Posing” by Bozkurt and Ergin. They were concluded that it is seen that the students' problem posing skills are not at the desired level. Second, there is a study under the title of “The Preservice Elementary Teachers’ Content Knowledge on the Critical Aspects of Polygons” by Duatepe-Paksu. The researcher has indicated that almost all participants recognized convex polygons as polygons whereas less number of participants recognized concave polygons. Third, there is a study under the title of “Examining 4-5 Age Children's Healthy Food Knowledge and Preferences” by Kerkez. The researcher was concluded that children as young as 4-5 years of age can identify foods but they have some confusion about which one is healthy. Fourth, there is a study under the title of “Preservice Teachers’ Views about the Course Teaching Technologies and Material Design” by Bozpolat and Arslan. They determined that if the teaching materials to be in accordance with the targets, appropriate to students’ level, that it promotes the permanence of knowledge and facilitates learning. Fifth, there is a study under the title of “Investigation of the Competences of Pre-Service Secondary School Mathematics Teachers Related to the Mathematical Modelling” by Gürel and Işık. They found the meaningful differences between the pre-service teacher included in the learning environment and those not included in terms of the competences of simplifying/structuring, mathematizing and interpretation. Seventh, there is a study under the title of “Developing a Classroom Management Perceptions Scale for Teacher Candidates: Validity and Reliability Study” by İra and İra. They found that the Cronbach’s alpha reliability of the scale was determined by 0,973. Finally, there is a study under the title of “The Relationship between Teachers’ Political Skills and School Academic Optimism Levels” by Kurt and Bostancı. They were concluded that there is a positive low-level relationship between teachers’ political skills and school academic optimism levels.

I thank to the journal employees, authors, reviewers and all the others who have contributed to the preparation process of this issue. Moreover, I hope that the New Year brings a civil peace to our country and the world.
