YAŞLILARIN ANTROPOMETRİK ÖLÇÜLERİNİN İÇ MEKȂN TASARIMINA UYGULANMASI

Abstract

Dünya nüfusu hızla yaşlanmakta ve yaşlılar giderek daha önemli bir tüketici grubu haline gelmektedir. Bu süreç ergonomi ve tasarım mesleklerini önemli ölçüde etkilemektedir. Ergonomist ve tasarımcıların yaşlı tüketicilerin yaşamını kolaylaştıracak ürünler tasarlayabilmeleri için antropometrik verilere ihtiyaç vardır. Ancak yaşlılara yönelik tasarımlar için verilerin yetersizliği ortadadır. Yaşlı bireylerin antropometrik ölçülerinin belirlenmesi, gözden geçirilmesi, tasarıma yansıtılması, kullanışlı ve optimum donanımların, araç-gereçlerin üretilmesi bir sorundur. Yaşlı nüfus giderek katlanmaktadır. Doğal olarak yaşlıların yaşamlarını uzun süre bağımsız olarak sürdürmeleri bir zorunluluktur. Özellikle yaşlılara yönelik mevcut ve tasarlanacak kurumların, yaşlı mekanlarının ve konutların yaşlının yaşamını kolaylaştırarak onları aktif hale getirmesi önemlidir. Ergonomik yaklaşım ve geronteknoloji yaşlıların tanınması, onların çevreyle uyum sağlaması ve tatmin edici bir yaşam sürdürmesi konusunda bir strateji sağlar. Yaşlının günlük yaşamını destekleyen mekan ve yer alan ürünler bireyin yerinde yaşamasını desteklediği gibi yaşam kalitesini de artıracaktır. Derleme niteliğindeki bu makalede yaşlıların antropometrik ölçülerinin tasarıma nasıl yansıtılacağı ele alınmakta, nitelikli ve bağımsız bir yaşam üzerindeki etkileri tartışılmaktadır.
