The purpose of the study is to
identify the relationships between disscussion and communication skills of pre-service
teachers. The data of study have been gathered through the administration of
two scales; Attitude Scale for Discussion Ability of Pre-service Teachers
developed by Ocak & Karakuş (2015) and Communicator Style Instrument Developed
by Dursun & Aydın (2011). The sample of study consists of 258 pre-service
teachers at Afyon Kocatepe University. Results indicate that pre-service
teachers have positive attitude towards discussion and there is a positive
correlation between discussion and communication abilities, both gender and
communication level and high school and communication level affect pre-service
teachers’ discussion ability but departmen and communication level have no
effect on pre-service teachers’ discussion ability.
