Bazı Pozitif Psikoloji Kavramları Açısından Helikopter Ebeveyn Tutumlarının Sonuçları

Abstract

Helikopter ebeveynlik; çocukları üzerine aşırı odaklanan, ihtiyaç duyulandan daha fazla yardım eden, onların hayatını programlamaya ve yönetmeye çalışan, müdahaleci ve mükemmeliyetçi anne baba tutumlarını tanımlamak için kullanılan bir kavramdır. Bu ebeveyn tutumlarının uzun vadeli olumsuz sonuçlarına ilişkin yurtdışında yapılan çok sayıda araştırma olmasına karşılık Türkiye’de bu kavram bilimsel araştırmalara konu edilmemiştir. Bu araştırmanın amacı; helikopter ebeveyn tutumlarının, ergenlerin öz-yeterlik, psikolojik iyi oluş, yaşam doyumu ve iyimserlikleri üzerindeki etkilerini saptamaktır. Bu amaçla 549 üniversite öğrencisine Algılanan Helikopter Ebeveyn tutumu, Genel Öz-Yeterlik, Psikolojik İyi Oluş, Yaşam Doyumu ve İyimserlik ölçekleri uygulanmıştır. Analiz yöntemleri olarak, korelasyon, regresyon, varyans analizi ve t testinin kullanıldığı araştırmada helikopter tutumların tüm bağımlı değişkenleri negatif yönde etkilediği saptanmıştır. Araştırmada; temel yaşam becerileri alanında helikopterliğin olumsuz sonuçlarının diğer boyutlardan daha yüksek olduğu gözlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte anne ve babanın helikopter tutumlarının etkisinin birbirinden farklı olduğu, ergenlerin iyimserlik düzeyi üzerinde ise hem anne hem babanın özel yaşam konusundaki helikopter tutumlarının olumlu etki yaptığı saptanmıştır.  Araştırma bulguları, benzer konuda yapılan araştırma sonuçları ile karşılaştırılarak tartışılmış ve öneriler geliştirilmiştir.
