TÜRKİYEDE HELİKOPTER EBEVEYNLİK EĞİLİMİ VE HELİKOPTER EBEVEYNLERİN DEMOGRAFİK ÖZELLİKLERİ

Abstract

Çocuklarını
yetiştirmede tutarsız bir otoriterlik ve aşırı korumacılık karışımıyla bilinen
helikopter ebeveynlik tarzı; çocuğun yaşından bağımsız olarak onları kontrol
etme ihtiyacı, onlara özerklik vermeme veya sınırlandırma, çocuklarını
gerçekten sevmedikleri etkinlikleri yapmaya zorlama, farklı konularda ders
aldırma veya başkalarıyla sosyalleşmesinden mahrum etme, akademik sonuçları her
şeyden önemli ve öncelikli tutma, çocuklarının yaptıkları her şeyde haklı
olduklarını düşünme eğilimi, okul öncesinden üniversiteye kadar her kademede öğretmen
ve okul kurullarından sürekli olarak şikayette bulunma davranışlarıyla
karakterize bir çocuk yetiştirme yaklaşımıdır.



Yapılan
araştırmanın amacı Türkiye’de helikopter ebeveynliğin yaygınlığını hem anne hem
baba boyutunda ortaya koymaktır. Bu gelen amaç çerçevesinde anne babaların
hangi konularda helikopter ebeveyn tutumlarının daha baskın olduğunun; yaş,
cinsiyet, eğitim düzeyi, yerleşim yerinin özelliği gibi demografik değişkenlere
göre tespit edilmesi hedeflenmiştir. 
Araştırmada betimsel tarama yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bu amaçla Yaşları 11
ile 22 arasında değişen ve ortaokul ile lisans üstü eğitim seviyelerinde
öğrenim gören 1600 kişiye Algılanan Helikopter Ebeveyn ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Ebeveynlerinin
tutumunu helikopter olarak algılayan 666 katılımcının verileri üzerinde de
tanımlayıcı istatistik değerleri, varyans analizi, t testi ve Scheffe test
yöntemleri ile analizler yapılmıştır.



Araştırmanın
sonunda, Türkiye’de annelerin üçte birinin, babaların ise yedide birinin
helikopter ebeveyn tutuma sahip olduğu, annelerin babalara kıyasla daha fazla
helikopter tutum sergiledikleri gözlenmiştir. Ortaokulda öğrenci olan katılımcıların
algıladıkları helikopter ebeveyn tutumları, diğer eğitim kademelerindeki
katılımcılardan yüksek bulunmuştur. Tek çocuklu, büyük şehirlerde yaşayan
ebeveynlerde helikopter tutum daha fazla gözlenirken helikopter ebeveyn
tutumunun çocukların cinsiyetinden etkilenmediğini de saptanmıştır.
