Matematik Okuryazarlığına Yeni Bir Bakış: Tekno-Matematiksel Okuryazarlık

Year 2023, Volume: 5 Issue: 1, 1 - 13, 24.06.2023

Abstract

A New Look At Mathematical Literacy: Techno-Mathematical Literacy

Year 2023, Volume: 5 Issue: 1, 1 - 13, 24.06.2023

Abstract

Due to the changing living conditions, with the development of technology, mathematical literacy cannot meet the necessary needs in some subjects. In order to meet these needs, a new literacy was needed. As this literacy, techno-mathematical literacy has emerged. Techno-mathematical literacy can be defined as the combination of mathematical, statistical and technological skills that people need. The study aims to introduce techno-mathematical literacy and its basic concepts in Turkish and make a general evaluation. The lack of Turkish resources on techno-mathematical literacy necessitated the preparation of this study. It is thought that defining the concept of techno-mathematical literacy, which is a new concept in the literature, will create awareness on the subject both in the education system and employers, and in academics working in the literature
