Year 2023, Volume: 5 Issue: 1, 85 - 104, 30.06.2023

Abstract

Bibliometric Analysis of Research on School Principal

Year 2023, Volume: 5 Issue: 1, 85 - 104, 30.06.2023

Abstract

In order to contribute to the realization of the goals of the school organization at a high level, to better understand the organizational positions of the school principals and to give more effective results in the administrative processes, the publications related to the school principal and the examination of the basic structure of the field were considered important and the relationships were examined in a multidimensional way. In the research, bibliometric method was used to examine the publication outputs about the school principal and the basic structure of the field. Since the search is one of the oldest and most widespread databases in the world, the database is updated daily and it is used most frequently in bibliometric studies, 3218 studies were obtained in the Web of Science (WoS) database. The bibliometric analysis of the literature on the school principal was carried out with the open code source R bibliometric package program. It was found that 3218 articles were published on the concept of school principal between 1976-2022, the total number of authors whose research was published was 6134, the number of articles with a single author was 868, and the average citation per article was 9.21. Regarding the concept of school principal, it has been found that the countries that publish the most are the United States, Turkey, Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, China, South Africa, Israel, Brazil and Spain, respectively.
