Sorunları özüne inebilen ve rehabilitasyon açısından her yönden
hastayı değerlendirebilen ve farklı tedavi metodları sunabilen
fizyoterapistlerin eğitim aşamasında eleştirel düşünme düzeylerininin ve
öğrenme biçimlerinin farkında olması gerekmektedir. Bu amaçla yükseköğretim düzeyindeki
fizyoterapi ve rehabilitasyon öğrencilerinin eleştirel düşünme eğilimleri ve
öğrenme biçimleri incelenmiştir. Gönüllü 111 katılımcının demografik bilgileri
kaydedilmiştir. Eleştirel düşünme eğilimleri California Eleştirel Düşünme
Eğilimi Ölçeği (CCTDI) ile, öğrenme biçimleri Öğrenme Biçemleri Envanteri
(BİG-16) ile sorgulanmıştır. Katılımcıların %59.5’i kız (yaş ortalaması
Physiotherapists
can come to the core of the point of problems and can evaluate patients from
all sides in terms of rehabilitation and offer different treatment methods.
This means that physiotherapists need to be aware of their critical thinking
and learning styles during the education phase.
So this study aimed to investigate the critical thinking tendencies and
learning styles of physiotherapy students. The sampling of the study consisted
of a total of 111 students from the school of physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
A personal information form was recorded. Critical Thinking with the California
Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory (CCTDI), and learning styles with the
BİG-16 Learning Style Inventory were assessed. 59.5% of the participants were
female (mean age 20.30 ± 1.31 years), 40.5% were male (mean age 20.86±1.50
years). According to CCTDI, we found that critical thinking tendencies were
generally low and there were statical significant only in analyticity and
open-mindedness sub-dimensions between the gender while there were only in
analyticity between the classes (p<0.05).
There were no statical significant in the auditory learning, physical
learning and visual learning style between sexes and classes (p> 0.05). In
conclucion, the tendency of critical
thinking were low in pt students and
there were no difference between learning style so more awareness about
this issue should be created in practice-based health disciplines. It is
recommended that this study will contribute better to the literature if it is
conducted with students of other health disciplines and different age groups.
