Leukemia in Dogs

Year 2022, Volume: 3 Issue: 1, 20 - 27, 30.06.2022

Abstract

This review has been prepared considering the increase in the number of dogs diagnosed with leukemia brought to the Erciyes University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Training, Research and Practice Hospital Internal Diseases Clinic. Considering that dog breeds such as German shepherds and Golden Retrievers, where the disease is common, are becoming increasingly widespread in our country, so, the problem might continue in increasing manner in the near future in our country. Based on the lack of consensus on the diagnosis and treatment protocol of this disease in veterinary medicine, information about the types, etiology, pathophysiology, clinical signs, diagnosis, treatment and possible prognosis of the disease is given in this review. The aim of this review is to improve the quality of life and prolong the life span of dogs with leukemia with correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment protocols. We believe that this review, prepared in the light of existing literature, will be useful for veterinarians.

Köpeklerde Lösemi

Year 2022, Volume: 3 Issue: 1, 20 - 27, 30.06.2022
